Project Information

Occasionally I'm asked if I would like some wood that has been laying around or ripped out for a remodel. Usually I'm not interested in something that has nail holes or painted surfaces. Sometimes an exception has to be made. These are my version of entry way benches that are popular with people who have seen the one I made for my wife. With the exception of 1 all have been constructed from reclaimed lumber. The oak version was built from shelving torn out of a 130 year old farmhouse. I flattened the surfaces but left the stains that had leeched into the grain plain to see. Hand rubbed oil finishes complete the pieces.

I like reclaimed recycled old timber as it has so much more to give, especially the grain & figure in old growth timber.
The bench has done the old timber justice along with some top craftsmanship, well done sir.

Great going on these benches. I like your designs and craftsmanship. Good save for that wood. It lives again!
