This was my wife's valentine's gift. An assortment of "flowers" in an "impossible" vase with a "heart in heart" picture frame. My son and daughter each contributed a card and a picture for the frame. My wife was happy.
The impossible vase is simple enough: two holes drilled through the vase with a diamond bit and a wooden arrow boiled, compressed in a vise, slipped through the holes, and reconstituted in boiling water.
The flowers are of assorted variety. Most involve thin strips of pine being steamed and rolled into a flower bud. From there some have wooden petals, others have melted cd petals, and one has two litter bottle petals. The fancier ones also include the super thin conical shavings from a 2" forstner bit. All have 1/4" dowel stems.

The only significant change I made is to use a tiny bamboo skewer as a dowel to mount the center heart.
