Project Information

when I got up on Valentines day there was a card sitting in front of my computer. In spite of daughter reminding me what was coming up. I forgot. So I had to get to the lathe. I think the candlesticks are made of wenge and I don't know what the bottom is made of. But by 8:30 that night I gave my gal a new set of candlestick holders for Valentines Day. jockmike2

oh you bet I did, and I fibbed she said "you remembered" I lied and said but of course. What a goon. I'd forget my butt if it was'nt attached, remember the cartoon Bill the Cat or Opus, the penquin who's butt was always falling off. mike

Very nice Mike.

Valentine's Day is the day after my birthday. So I can't get by with giving my wife a card and some candy. After all she did buy me some presents the day before!!

good save!!!

my birthday is on the 10th - and my husband used to remember that but forget what month. He'd always ask: "is it March, April, or May?"
(silly boy-- "well", I responded, "just buy me a gift in each of those months and you'll be sure to get it right!!!)

what a wonderful story Mike, and a great project.

Back in 1999, I had to drive to town on Valentine's Day and help a florist trim my flowers and put them myself in a vase in the back room of the florist shop. She was too busy with orders already, but she felt sorry enough for my sad face that she agreed to sell me the roses, if I would do the work of prepping them and setting them in the vase. My wife doesn't know about that whole story, so let's just keep it to ourselves. For sure, I don't forget anymore.

What a wonderful tribute. You do have the spalty eye thing to blame this on, you don't have to admit that you forgot!

I'm proud of you brother jock,
Mark

Aussies don't seem to celebrate Valentines Day - not very romantic, I guess. I've hear Australia described as a very 'blokey' country - guess it's true.

Don, that's it, my wife and I are moving to Australia…THis year I had this big ellaberate plan, picnic on a mountain top, sun set, romantic blablabla, cable guy showed up, wife had him set up a full cable package, then she settled in and watched lost…leaving me all alone. Was I sad, not at all, we have two TV's and I got to watch my beloved Vancouver Canucks beat the Minnesoda Wild in the best hockey game I've seen in years…

Dennis, that reminds me of a TV comedy show we have here called "Corner Gas". The adult son didn't bring a mother's day present to his mother. Excuse: I ran out of time. Response from Mom: you've had all year.
Hey mike… why don't you make it NOW while you remember and then stash it until the time comes around again!!
You could put it in a box, wrap it all up pretty and place it somewhere for your wife to agonize over for the next year.
ha and I thought Scott's devilish "week" solving the puzzle was bad
