I am so sorry for your loss - I know how special they are to you, we just lost one very special rescue irish setter mix night before Christmas Eve. You made an absolutely beautiful urn. How on earth did you get such a beautiful profile of him on this box - you did a wonderful job. I make a shadow box for each of our rescue dogs that pass with their collar, clay paw print, photos, parts of toys they have torn up over time - it's good therapy. Well done, Brett.

Tough times, our last Pup was 18, present one just turned 13 and Vet figures with his Heart problems may not make 14. Think he will be our last one! Might just start a special Box for him now.

Thanks for the kind words, all.

Kim,

That image was from a photo I took of Kroger in his prime, during a romp in the snow. I removed the background in Photoshop and blended out portions to leave the head & shoulders profile. The text was also added in PS. I printed the image on transparent water-slide decal paper made for inkjet printers and applied it per the manufacturer's instructions over a base of shellac seal coat. I followed with more shellac, carefully sanded back between several coats to level the decal edges. The final finish was Deft satin spray lacquer.
