Greetings, all! First time posting here on LJ, but long time lurker.
I have to say, as an occassional hobbyist woodworker and avid chess player, I really like this design. I'm typically really particular about chess pieces, preferring to play only on traditional designs. That being said, this set is so sensible, simple and elegant that it would appeal to even the most anal-retentive chess nerd on here (probably me). Beautiful design, Dave. You may have inspired me for a summer project!

Very nice and very inspiring. I have been wanting to try a chess set for years but with no lathe or scroll saw I have limitations. This one gives me ideas. Thanks for posting!

Great Job. I love the design of the pieces. I have been searching to either buy or make my own set to match a board I made last summer. I think I just found it!

Realy incredible work, both, on board as well as with figurines. It's good to know it can be made without lathe.

Nice work. I like the unique pieces design and the colors work very well together as a contrast.

Very Nice! I like the design solution. Making chess pieces can be laborious. Yours has a simple elegance.
