Project Information
My table saw blades and tools were too far away from the point of use. The combo disc/ belt sander I rarely use but refuse to get rid of needed a better home out of my way.
The cabinet fits under the table saw extension when used as storage and rolls out to use as a base for the sanding machine. The box is black lacquer with a poplar face frame and top. I sprayed it with shellac and then let it sit out in the sun for a day to attempt a more tanned, aged look. The process added a little color but I do not think the late October sun in KY is intense enough for the result I was going for.
For the drawer boxes I used some oak I had on hand, rabbets on the corners and 1/4" walnut dowels to add strength. Full extension slides (online) and clearance drawer pulls from lowe's finished it off.
