Project Information
This is ukelele case for a local musican. He plays ukelele professionally, and wanted a very durable case that could stand up to a beating if need be. And he wanted it made out of recycled wood, if possible he requested.
So With luck I chose a very weathered piece of 3/4 inch ply and took things a step further and found an old suitcase on the side of the road.
After taking measurements of the instrument, I built a simplt case. Then in the dead center, on the top, I attached the handle and latch that I removed from the old suitcase. I busted my hand pretty good doing it.
Then after finishing the inside with spray suede, and a fabric piece for the neck, I stained it, painted on his name, and finished it with high gloss poly.
