Project Information
This is my first project to post and first one I've completed! Just got some woodworking gear for Christmas and wanted to make a step stool for my daughter as she is about ready for a normal bed. My wife thought the WWMM template would be the best for this, and I was hoping to give one of Steve's projects a try.

I learned a ton. I had never used a jigsaw or router before (or even really clamps), so that was a fun experience. This was going to just be the test run, but it turned out pretty good. Would like some more tips on cutting straight lines with the router straight bit! It will be much easier with a router table, but was decent with just a straight guide. I was off by a little though as there was some wobble I had to correct with an extra little piece on one base leg.
After it was painted, I used 2 coats of Danish Oil on the pine steps without paint, and then 3 coats of poly on the whole thing once it was all put together.
My daughter absolutely loves it! She loves going up and down and keeps saying it is her favorite, and she says "You made this for me- for me??" Definitely worth it.
