Project Information
I made these twin wall hanging cabinets for my daughters. They are constructed of Walnut and Poplar. I started the project while working with Ernie Conover of Parkman, Ohio in his hand tool joinery class. I helped as an apprentice with a couple of his other classes. I then completed them in my home shop. The carcasses are joined with hand cut dovetails as well as the drawers. The doors are mortise and tenoned with a raised panel that was hand planed. Almost all of the work was done with hand tools after the initial planing of the boards. The door and drawer pull knobs were turned on the lathe. A variety of hand planes was used throughout. The shelves utilize an adjustable sawtooth system. The finish is Minwax Antique Oil.
