Project Information

I stepped up to some new kits, the Penn State Majestics in Black Titanium and Rhodium. I almost screwed one up by not laying out the pieces correctly, but some creative press work undid my mistakes.

First pen was a Thuya Burl. It's twin is a Maple Burl left over from some other projects. Both are finished to 3600 grit in MicroMesh, then low lustre PPP, then 4 coats of friction wax.

Other than the finger prints that I neglected to wipe clean before the photo, these pens turned out very nice. They also write like a dream and are popular at the office.

I got a new commission for some Gentlemen's pens for a new husband and wife. Stablized box elder burl for both pens will put a hurting on my chisels, but that's another story.

Hi Mark;

Great looking pens.

I haven't made any pens for a long time. Maybe it's time.
