Wood And Materials Used
The wood is all mahogany. The clock was a alarm clock I purchased at Menards. Minwax Matte finish.
Tools Used
table saw with wedgie sled, lathe, 6x48 belt sander.
This was made for the Segmented Turning Swap 2023.

Was planning on making a 12" wall clock, but changed my mind and made a desk clock. There are four segmented layers. The back one you can't see by the picture. I forgot to take pictures of the finished product. So, the finished pic I grabbed from "recycle43" which was my recipient. The alarm clock, I dismantled all the alarm features. All of the wood is Philippine Mahogany. I didn't use any stain on this. I only used Minwax Matte finish on this. I sorta wished I use a clear stain finish to help pop out the grain. The bottom I sanded flat on a belt sander. Applied black paint to the bottom, then I applied black flocking to the black paint while the paint was still wet. The Twist Pen in the picture was made by "cleib91"

That is really nice Rich, well done turning and a great idea placing the clock in a turned frame. Well done.

Thanks for participating in the swap.

Nicely done - I like how you shaped the rings for the side of the clock.

So I'm new to turning, how did you attach the partical board piece to the clock you were turning?
