Nice. I've been thinking of turning one myself out of some 8/4 hickory. What wood did you use?

Nicely done. A graduated series of these would fetch a nice price on eBay as a set. Just a thought. Again, beautiful execution.

I used Maple. If (or when) I make another, I'd use a larger diameter and maybe make the handle narrower,

So this is a prototype. Great start. I keep trying to figure out what I want. I guess it's make one and then make another for the items missing.

I do think that I'd like a small brass one so that I can lightly tap the wood chisles to take off that ever-so-small piece that seems to be hanging on tightly.

I like the large diameter handle. Even though I have small hands, I think I get a better grip on this type.

I don't know what the diameter of the head is , but the handle looks like a very comfortable size and design . Great job and I like the accent stripes as well : ) Welcome to LJs : )

Very nice, the addition of the stipes adds a little extra. Good luck with the next one.
