Project Information

My wife loves tulips which were a part of our wedding day. I decided to make her a bandsaw box, originally as an anniversary gift which turned in to a belated Christmas gift. I used black oak and walnut that I milled from our property and neighbor's tree. I used 7 coats of poly to finish it. I left the insides unfinished for a rough cut look. I guess it's not too bad for my first bandsaw box and she's happy with it.

I really like your tulip box. I made one and posted it a while ago. I like the concept you used for the leaves. Might have to incorporate something like that if I do another flower style box.

I'm curious to what you're looks like. Feel free to post a link to it. Actually, the head, if I made another, I would consider a different design to look more specifically like tulip petals. I designed my template about 10 years ago and didn't consider revising it, just wanted to finally get the project done that I'd been putting off for so long. I don't plan to make more but if I did I might rework my design a little.
