Project Information

In between many many things that seem to going on this year, I finally got this little boxing gloves bandsaw box done. However, I forgot to take some pics of it after it was finished!! lol…that's how bad this year is going. Anyhoo, this is a small tribute to "The Greatest", Muhammad Ali/Cassius Clay Jr. Here in Louisville, "I Am Ali" Festival here: http://alicenter.org/i-am-ali-festival/
The boxing gloves are made from one block of Water Tupelo, and the base is from an old water bed frame that has been laying around since the '80's… haha
Picture transfers were done with a laser jet printer, and lacquer thinner. "float like a butterfly, and sting like a bee" drawers bottoms are embossed black leather. The base was stained w/Generals Salem stain, the both gloves and base were finished with 5 coats of Generals High Performance Gloss Polyurethane.
Thnx for lookin in. All good/bad/ugly comments are reviewed..and appreciated.. lol
I've added a few more pics below

Very good Roger!

Yes, Ali was probably really The Greatest… he was just awesome in the ring… great jab… stinging like a Bee…

I wish he had stopped before he got his brains scrambled…

Very COOL bandsaw box…

In transferring the Laser Print to wood, doesn't it have to be a Mirror Image so the Printed Side can go against the wood? If so, how do you do that?
1. Save the file as a Mirror Image & then print & use it… Or
2. Print a normal file as a Mirror Image?
3. What program(s) did you use to prepare the printout?
4. I guess you just tape the print to wood and flood it with Lacquer Thinner?

Thank you very much…

Thnx everyone.

hunter71: yes, I am aware of that. I'm not a fan of that part of his life for sure.

Joe: There are probably many more easier ways to do things that I do, but, I usually do texts and pictures in the paint program. There is a "re-size" tool that I have to play around with to get the perfect size, and another tool is to be able to "flip" the image (picture or text) horizontally, or vertically. I've been using the paint program for so long, that's the only way I do things. I always "re-size" all my pics that I post on here, because they seem to load a lot faster being smaller. I did have to find the right number to re-size things, because everything is a little different size wise from different sd cards, camera's, etc. I hope this answers your questions.
