Project Information

This is one of the very few D.I.Y. type of projects I have ever done: A tree shelf my daughter designed for her place. After months of procrastination, I finally built the piece in two days-a couple of weeks before a recent trip. The installation was completed today after I came back (in the meantime, the shelf was kept in the shop for the finish to cure).

Connectors used: Brads and screws (the latter to attach the shelf pieces to the board)
Supplies:
Z-clip material (http://www.leevalley.com/en/hardware/page.aspx?p=41869&cat=3,41306,41308)
Shelf braces (http://www.leevalley.com/en/hardware/page.aspx?p=50312&cat=3,41306,41312)

I spotted a couple brads shot through the wood and fixed it using a cutting wheel and some filler compound.

Not counting labor, the tree shelf cost about $50.

The next project for her place will also be a shelving construction, but of a furniture-grade.

A novel idea. I'm sure her knick knacks will look great displayed on the unique shelf.

Thanks for sharing.
