Project Information

I built a Leopold Bench, a tall table to use while cooking, and a dual fryer cover

The Leopold bench is built using 2×8s, 2×6s, and a 2×10. I found the plans on Pinterest, cute little bench for the backyard. The bench is 4 foot long, 2.5 feet tall, and 2.5 foot deep.

The table is 2×4s, with 2×10 top, 18×18 top, 37 inches tall, i used kreg jig to attach the legs to the supports, and directly screwed the top to the frame. The table is for plates, tongs, etc.

The box is 1/2 inch treated plywood, with 1.5×1.5 frame, and i hid all the screws with ripped down 2×4 pieces leftover from a fencing project i did a couple of years ago. The final box dimensions are 21.5inches x 26×12.5 tall.

I have been thinking about building the Leopold bench myself… is it pretty stable without someone sitting in it? Meaning if a kiddo were to run into it while playing, will it tip backwards. What if said kiddo were standing on the seat would I need to worry about it tipping backwards?

Keep up the good work!

It seems to be pretty stable so far, i haven't tried to really flip it , it probably weighs about 60 pounds.
