Project Information

Here is another GoodWill "Re-Build"

Spalted Maple Travel Mug. 8 piece Staved construction. Started with one of those travel mugs that have a stainless steel lower section with the plastic inside and bottom. Removed the bottom and trimmed. Removed the stainless and replaced with the Maple.

Glued back together with GORILLA GLUE that I won on the "Nothing New But Glue" contest. Thanks Again Martin and Gorilla Glue for the contest.

Finished the wood with 4 coats Tung Oil/Varnish. Then Buffed on the Beall Buffing system.

I really enjoy re-building things found at yard sales or GoodWill type places. It gives them a new life and costs a LOT less then buying the "kits" does.

Please leave all comments and critiques. I am always open to other peoples input/opinions.

Thank You for looking.

Trevor, Sounds like a cool idea but…...they would only be for one use! hahaha

Jeff, Got to get it out of the box!

Thanks for the comments.

I get a lot of pieces from Goodwill and refurbish them then give them away as door prizes at our monthly Motorcycle club meeting "GWRRA"
