Project Information

This is the last toy I finished as a continued learning curve. I did this one from a picture, simple sketch, not to scale, is it recognizable.??? Learn as you go along. How to shape the front of the fenders as they extend beyond the radiator. Bumpers, tried this idea and worked well, easy solution, one piece. I don't have any spooked wheels and did not like the look of any I found on the internet, I tried modifying the ones I had. Do they look OK on this model? next step will to paint them black before I redo the center. Will post pictures later on tire modification. The one picture with the pieces, One half is buffed with tripolie, quickly go from 120 sandpaper to perfectly smooth. Any errors or changes that can be made on future models. Or a model you would like to see.Comments appreciated. Thanks for looking.
No one mentioned, but this was a MODEL A FORD

Great job on that car! You did an amazing job of fitting the fenders to the contour of the body.

Fantastic!

I have made toys for a few decades now and none of mine are as nice as yours.

I do like the wheels; some of the 30's (early) vehicles had wheels that looked like that!

If you want pictures of vehicles that you can't find I can usually come up with them.-- Might take a little time, but, I usually manage. Machinery junkie and sawdust being my two worst addictions!

I want to see you do a middles 30's style pickup- sort of like the looks of the Chrysler Airstream-except a pickup. A 38 IHC also has about that same look.

TOO NICE TO LET THE KIDS HAVE!! Give it to Grandpa; he will appreciate it!

Amazing work! Love the fender contours and the wheels look great. Do you use any finish after the buffing with tripoli or leave it natural?

Love the arrangement of the grain in the different pieces. The wheels can be painted or unpainted, depending on your desire. I have made a few models so I know how your mind operates. Keep up the good work. John

Brian, I love the clean clear grain in the timbers you've used on this car…
Is the timber a local wood which you have milled??
