Project Information

Made this toy chest for my niece-in-law. It was difficult to do on the porch of my apartment with minimal tools, but it was enjoyable. It is about 36 in long, 18 in wide, and 24 in tall.

It is all made out of pine common board and I used pocket joints for everything including the lid (you can see the pocket hole plugs on the underside). I built and stained the skeleton and then assembled all the other pieces and my wife wood burned our niece's name on the front.

Nicely done. I hope you don't mind a suggestion: adding a gas cylinder or some other type of soft close/safety device to prevent small fingers from getting bashed under what looks like a fairly substantial lid.
