Project Information

Made this CB to help the Tornado fundraiser. The pattern kind of reflects the disarray that the tornado caused this area. It is made up of Black Walnut, Paduck, Shedua,Yellowheart,European Beech,Purpleheart,Marblewood, Santos Mahogany, Goncalo Alves,Bubinga,Bloodwood. I used salad bowl finish to seal the CB and mineral oil/beeswax. It measures 12×12 x 1 3/8.

Amagineer, i drove through the area on Rt. 19 today on our trip up to the Brimfield antique fair and my wife and i were absolutely amazed at the damage that was done. We couldnt believe the masses of trees sheared off. Youre a good man for doing what you can to help out.

You cannot describe the devastation that took place here, it has to be seen in person to fully understand what has happened to these good people.

Very nice looking! Did you do the salad bowl finish before or after the mineral oil/wax?

Mark: I saturate the CB with two applications of salad bowl finish to seal the CB, leave overnight to dry, sand with 400 grit paper, then cover over night with a cloth soaked in warm mineral oil/beeswax. Wipe off excess, buff with soft cloth.

This is a great looking cutting board.

the effect of the central "line" is outstanding.
