Project Information

My shop was designed with many windows to maximize natural light. Unfortunately many windows means that there isn't much wall space for tool storage. The narrow shelves and racks installed in front of windows provide additional storage without diminishing the light or the view of the backyard. I got the idea from a photo of the shop at Popular Woodworking, if I remember correctly. The racks are customized for the various tools. I built the latest racks several months ago. I wasn't planning on posting this, but I thought other folks might be able to use this idea.
Cheers

Tool rack with a view how cool is that?
And nicely done I must add.
You need to add a few more clamps to go with all those chisels. LOL

Is that the floor or is it your bench top?

Thanks for the kind comments. That's a butcher block counter top/work bench in the photo, not the floor. It's not the bench I use for woodworking, and it's usually covered with crap, but I cleaned it up for the photos. Actually, I pushed the crap out of the shot. I couldn't imagine a chisel rack 10 inches off the floor, my back hurts just thinking about it. I definitely have heat in the shop, but no AC. And J. Curtis, I guess I am showing off a bit. I have a bunch of old photos of my shop posted in "My Workshop," but there have been lots of additions since then, such as a plane cabinet (that was posted) and several things that aren't such as a hammer till, compressed air piping, and new dust collection system.
Cheers
