Project Information

I built these tool chests as Christmas gifts for my 2 adult sons last year, one from cherry, and one from walnut. I stocked each with a basic set of carpentry hand tools, squares, hand saws, etc.. Chests have 2 removable tool trays, and a deeper saw storage tray, and space for larger tools and hand planes below. Finish is 3 coats of hand rubbed Maloof Oil.

Those are great looking tool chests. I've been looking for blanket chests to build for family members as Christmas presents but haven't found any that really triggered my imagination, but I think with a few minor modifications something similar to your tool chests just might be the thing. I'll have to ponder it for awhile. Anyway great job and great build.
