Project Information

I was in desperate need of a lumber organization solution. About a month ago I came across the WWMM Lumber Cart…it was the perfect solution. Here is video of the build along with a cut drawing and detailed plans….http://www.woodworkingformeremortals.com/2013/01/make-rolling-lumber-cart.html.

Thanks for looking.

Looks good, Mac. How easy is it to move around when loaded up with lumber and sheet goods?

It moves pretty good given the amount of wood that's on it. It holds quite a bit. WWMM chopped the corners of the bin dividers quite a bit. I chose not To so it would give more area to lean wood against. I plan on cutting The corners a little bit just so there isn't a sharp corner to possible get hurt on.

Neat cart. Looks like you can store a lot of different sizes. I need something like this but no room.

Good looking Lumber Cart, I watch WWMM every week and sometimes on week nights when I need a woodworking fix. Thanks for the post.

I think almost everyone can relate to some degree with unorganized wood piles.

I had to recently discard hundreds of pounds of scrap wood that I just had no room for in my shop. I needed enough room for the second car to fit. (sigh) this looks like a great idea, but my garage is a small one-car ditty. There is only enough room on the floor for Mable the Able Mercury Sable and my built in bench; all else had to go overhead and up.

My shop is also a single car garage, but my wife was gracious enough to allow me to take it over.

In the process of building the same thing. My wife also let me take over the garage. I was thinking of leaving the angled cuts off too. Seeing yours convinced me that I am doing what you did. Great job. Really looks good.
