Had a Shopsmith and hand power tools in a garage shop for several years. Started on this workshop in 2013 with the re-use of some trusses and building materials from an old house a buddy and I tore down. I built the shop to the width and number of trusses, which was 19'x 32'. My father in law donated a bunch of 10' studs for the walls, so that worked out pretty sweet. Saved a lot by using cull lumber from the Big Orange Box, which was suitable for many things, such as floor joists, bench, miter saw station, cordless drill/nailer station, etc. Even got a 5 gallon bucket of pant for the floor for a whopping $26. In addition to working for a civil engineering firm, I have my own business as a house plan designer. I traded a plan for the electrical work by a licensed electrician, so more saved there. It's been a 3 year labor of love, but worth every bit for what I now enjoy. Like me, it's still a work in progress, but at least I now get to make sawdust.
