If your tree is a real cut tree ( a real woodworker use real Christmas trees) and still standing in late February then the jolly roger might be appropriate. Good job in the snowflake. The right number of sides and all nearly the same. No wonder though, how people get the idea that snowflakes have 8 sides. It comes from bad schooling when the art teacher came round and taught us to make a snowflake by taking paper folding once then again and cutting out triangles on the edges. Very nice looking but wrong.

Not sure what you mean by wrong. I download a real picture of a snow flake, printed it, glued it to the board and carved it.

Really like that. Great idea for scrolled ornaments also.

Great job! Is the design made with a scroll saw cutting all the way through the wooden disk or did you use a router so the design is only on one side? Also what type of wood is that and what type of hanger will you use?

Hang both on the tree, they are not mutually exclusive. A great way to start a conversation.

Thanks and have a great weekend.

I believe Stephen was saying that many kids are taught to make 8-sided snowflakes, and that is not the correct configuration.

I read it to say that he felt yours was correctly done, and he did include "The right number of sides, ..."

Pretty work, btw.
