Workshop Information

Location
United States
Hello, I have a 24×24 two car garage for my workshop. It is a detached garage 33 feet from house, which the 33 feet is our backyard. Wife really doesn't go out there, since it is detached, and i have taken over. redone garage october 2008, and august 2009. Now i can move around!

first pic of my temporary workbench on back wall of garage in the middle, working on some designs and looking at designs for cabinets above, got an Ohio State U. pegboard to frame up and put above workbench. repainted and uphostered my stools for the shop that were in the garage when i bought the place. New drywall, paint and electric. Gray paint with steel outlet covers.

built a 8' mobile wood shelf from the plans of wood magazine, and put it on casters, and had 2×4's stick out in back, for supporting large sheet goods, with a bungee cord to hold it back there.

With the new electric, was a new sub panel, and had some left over trim from house door trim and framed the panel. hung my Dad's clock he owned in his garage from Phoenix, AZ.

2 car detached garage, with no cars.

Tim, this looks pretty good. You have the basic necessities in there to get started on your shop- a bench, stools, an open shop and a refrigerator! This is a fun period in a shop evolution. You have basically a blank slate to work with and can design and build whatever shop furniture that you want.

Enjoy. And keep us posted on the progress.
