That's a perfect frame for that print. It doesn't detract from the beauty of the print only enhances. Very nice.

I made four frames like this one a couple weekends ago. I bought the board from a lumber yard that is only open part time. It is in a rural area about 30 miles from my house. Board was priced seperately from the average qrt sawn white oak. It was $8.50 a bft because of spectacular ray flake figure. .... link... to the lumber seller. He runs the small lumber yard at his farm and works full time at a local highschool as the industrial arts instructor. He also carries some really nice curly maple if you look at his high-priced stash.

Dan,
Very nice frames. I really like the bronze acid patina finish. Are you going to market these on eBay as in the past?

Found the tile mold this weekend and am pressing a few more tiles. This is the mold I used to make
"the clearing" tile series. As stated above I made the mold from a mahogany wood carving. I still have the carving and the mold has made about 70 tiles. It is getting worn, but still produces decent tiles.

Hi Dan,

Finish questions.

How do you apply the dye?

Have you had any issues with color fastness?

What is seedlac?

So basecoat of dark oak. Minwax over and then top coat?

Thanks,

John
