Needs more nails! Seriously, what can one expect from a 9-year-old? You had to start somewhere!

Hey, just think that is the neatest thing I've seen in a long time. I wish I had some of the stuff I made a s a kid. Over the years of moving, all of my childhood things are long gone. This should be the most valuable piece you own. Keep it forever and pass it down.

You must have come from a wealthy family to have made a table when I was 9 (in 1961) that amount of wood would have kept us warm alll winter. Seriously though it's great when you can look back & remember your first faltering steps, you have definitely improved, bet you're grateful to that table. Thanks for sharing your trip down memory lane.
God bless

Thanks for sharing the memories. I'm sure that there a lot of memories for you and the family when you proudly finished it.
My mother has a "house" made by my son- three boards nailed together in an inverted U and the top is covered with scraps of shingles. Now, he is a mechanical engineer.

What a nice post! Not sure how old you are now, but this piece has been around for some decades. Must say a lot about the quality!

I think it is great!
It is still here means it was built with love, hard work and sweat!
At 9 yrs old I could not pick up a hammer!
My son just turned 9 and he loves to try and help me, I think I'll let him look at this and let him have the wood and nails and say go for it!
Thanks for sharing your memories and your wonderful made childhood project.
