Workshop Information

Location
United States
These are pics of my old workshop (20 X 40) BEFORE the Construction dropped here in Bakersfield a few years ago. Since then I've had to sell the Building, Motorcycle, a few tools, and about 12 trees from the backyard. I've moved into town and now am having a CHALLENGING time working in a 2 car garage. Before I bought this house and metal building I lived in a house with only a 1 car garage and RV access and that was plenty of room but I guess I got spoiled. After I build my storage shed, i'll be able to get rid of alot that don't need to be in the Garage/Shop but for now, i'll have to make do.

Update: Finally got some pics of the new shop. Had to find new locations for some of my things but this will have to do for now.

John, that was a gorgeous shop that you had to work in. I am sure it is hard to go down in space since shop space seems to be a lot like tools and clamps- we never seem to have enough. When you get your current shop in shape how about posting some pictures of it?

Wow. I'd hate to give something up like that. When you get your current shop done, let us see some pic's of it.

How much do those building usually run? I didn't know you could move them once they were installed.

It's going to be awhile to get the garage the way I need it, especially since moving into the house without even finishing it. I'll post pics when I do though. The metal building started as just a 20' X 20' Carport but talking to the company opened up so many options, I went for the gusto. They just add extensios as they go based on what you order. After you add sides, doors, & windows, you end up with a metal building at about 1 10th the cost of the convential stick frame. It was nice while it lasted but i'll make it work. Thanks for you support though. It was suppost to cost me 5,300.00 but the company made several mistakes and really screwed me up time wise for 3 weeks so after talking to the general manager, he accepted 3,000.00 even. Whats even better, metal has really gone up out here since I bought it (about 4 years ago) and the guy that bought it from me had priced it at 7,800.00 so he offered me 5,000.00 and I accepted it. Best investment I ever made.

I'm hoping to sell this house and make a decent enough profit to move back south somewhere. In the meantime, my 2 car garage will have to do.
