Steve, I'm sorry but my bandsaw box is 48 and 3/16 wide. Yeah right! Steve, I love that box on so many levels. Ultra cool design and excellent craftsmanship. What really blows my mind is that you used framing lumber. I used to look at that wood with contempt. You have humbled me. Beautiful job.

Great idea Steve. I have made hundreds of BS boxes, but never thought of making one like you have designed this one. When I first saw it I was wondering how in the world you would cut out the drawers….great way of doing it. Question, do you make all your BS boxes the same way…I mean by cutting everything away and then glue it back together…or just this style and size of box?

I am not finding it, but a fellow LJ has a picture of himself with a very large bandsaw box he made. Although not as long, I think could be a rival for overall size.

That is great. Pretty creative, not much scrap leftover. Looks real good on your mantel too. The video was interesting to watch.
Maybe you should have kept it a secret until after the contest finals.

Hawaiilad Larry - On regular boxes, I do the same process except I try to make only one entry cut to cut out the drawers. I was going to do that with this one, but I was afraid it would break if I left one end intact. Plus having the top and bottom pieces separated made sanding easier.

Monte - I'll have to search for that large box. I'd love to see it if you find it.

Oldtool - Brian was considering canceling the contest due to lack of response in the first few weeks, so I wanted to get mine in asap to encourage him not to cancel, and hopefully inspire others to enter this fun contest. You better not enter a 49" bandsaw box. LOL
