Project Information

It's a squirrel feeder or free entertainment depending on how you look at it.

After my B-I-L posted his "fur flinging feeding forum", I promised somewhere in the discussion to post mine, which I modeled after one that I built for my father. Much to Obi's displeasure I too used left-over mahogany from my parents deck, mainly since it was free.

The axis pieces measure 5/8" square by 36" long. I added the close-up yet somewhat blurry picture to show the corn-holding hardware since there was some discussion about that on Scott's post. Thanks for looking.

it is an interesting device. Gives the critters a challenge to overcome. I'm sure that they think the prize is worth the effort.

I hope you can add some pictures of the feeder in action. I would like to see that squirrel entertainment.

Aha, thanks for that… now I know which corn holders to get. I'll keep the ones I have to make hot corn on the cob handles out of (for those people that can't wait until it cools down a bit)

Thanks RobS for the heads up on the messages. It looks great. I had my eye on some mahogany strips at the toy making meeting yesterday, but I didn't pick they my because I was not sure of the size. But they'll do 3/4" Square by 3' long.

Thanks everyone!

Bill, It's quite a distance from the house so it's a little hard to sneak up and get live action footage, I'll see what I can do. Its probably funnier in person though, so you may just have to build one.

Rob give us your address and put clean sheets on the bed in the guest room and we'll all take turns visiting.

They'd do anything for a donut!
