Project Information

Sorry I've not been around in a while retirement is a busy job. But Happy New year to all my Lumberjack pals. Anyway this is what I've been working on recently. I always wanted a George Harrison rosewood Telecaster but without £15,000 spare it was "Make it yourself time" I couldn't find any pieces of Rosewood in the UK that A) Were big enough for the build or B) that I could afford so I used up some pieces of American Black Walnut that were in my off cut bin 4 pieces book matched and sliced through the middle and glued back together with a maple veneer for interest. I created some acoustic chambers for lightness and resonance and it works great. I made the edge binding from flamed maple and steam bent it to approximate shape using my wife curling tongs (with permission of course)

A great looking job. Your build with the book matching is right on.

That's something to be proud of. And that it makes music is a real bonus.

Thankyou all for the kind words, to A1Jim I'll keep you posted my friend I may not get here so much but you always get a mention in my prayers. To DMiller I have used a TBX tone control both single coil pickups but a Les Paul selector switch so I had a bit of working out to do. Most wiring diagrams show fender switches and the TBX made me scratch my head a bit, this is not my strong point but I got there and it sounds good.

Welcome back Trev, great work on that Tele! I guess we're many to be too busy to be around here at times. Best wishes for this new year!
