It looks nice, but I'm afraid I can't really appreciate it since I don't know what it is. I looked up the term "tawa hei toki" and it looks like it might be a piece of jewelry. I am pretty sure that it's not an adze though. Can you give me an idea of the scale of the piece? I'm really not trying to be "that guy" but . . .

Ha, so I am not the only one. Had to look it up too.
Tawa is a wood and for hei toki I found:
"The Hei toki is a representation of the adze, an important tool of times past. Bound in a traditional manner, the Toki represents strength, determination and authority."

Heya,

Uwe - thank you for your kind words :)

Tawa is timber native to New Zealand. Toki were traditionally carved from greenstone/pounamu (NZ jade) by Maori and used as the head of an adze. Here's an example: https://teara.govt.nz/en/photograph/386/waiwharangi-the-greenstone-adze

Don - the toki here is about 9cm in length, 2cm across. Toki are today primarily worn aesthetically, and carved from a variety of materials, including greenstone, bone, and wood.
