This follows on style and material wise from the dining table I built last month for mum - two major pieces of furniture for her, and one for my sister this year and… none for me 
This is the first 'occasional' table I've built, and in Australian parlance, "its built like a brick @#$ house". Many dominoes, much bracing. Initially I wasn't a fan of the styling of this (and the dining table), but its starting to grow on me. However, baskets? Full extension drawer slides or make it a cupboard, in my book!
The clock thats on top of it is a coolibah burl clock I mostly built for Christmas. She could never decided if it was hanging or being on a stand, so I still haven't taken care of that. The contrast of the two timbers is nice though, so I might have to turn a nice vase out of a similar coloured wood.
