Project Information

As part of building my materials cart, I need to taper the partitions for the lumber side of the cart. If this was the only taper requirement I had, it would have bee easier to create a one-time jig. But, since I have a few other projects coming up that will need taper cuts too, I decided to build an adjustable taper jig. It is loosely base on the model offered by Rockler.

Wow, this sure beats my cheap aluminum contraption. This looks and I'm sure works, equally great.
Nice job.

Great job! I have seen the Rockler jig. This looks a lot better. Love the old saw handle.

I like this concept. Keeps the fingers a looooong way from the blade!

In my favorites and on my to-do list. Now I just need time. Thanks!

sras - The jig is large enough to handle pieces up to about 2" thick X 9" wide X 34 1/2" long. It is big but I shouldn't have to wish too often that I had made it bigger.

richgreer - It's not actually a handle from an old saw. I have a template and laminate up some ply and/or MDF to make a handle whenever I need one. I like the angle better the straight joy stick that's on the Rockler model.

Love this, just might be discarding the one I made and replacing with this!
