Project Information

This is my presentation of my X.O's Retirement shadowbox. As is my custom, my shadow boxes are not glass cased because they are 3 dimensional. This is the tail end of a CH-46 with his medals mounted inside the cabin fuselage above the ramp. All wood burning is hand drawn then wood burned in by hand as well.

This was 7 layers of 1/2" poplar, sanded and filed to match all contours of the aircrafts fuselage.

It will be a sad day for the aircraft world when these machines are eventually retired too.
It has got to be one of the only aircraft that Boeing made that has outlasted just about anything else they produced in the same era or later for that matter (the cringe …Ospery comes to mind).
A unique machine to fly in and parachute out off not detracting from its equally welcome unique sound as it approached from out of no where on the battlefield, knowing you were about to without a doubt outta here !

You have produced some very remarkable models well befitting of the aircraft and recipients.
