Project Information

My last hide a gun tissue box didn't have a way to lock it so I came up with this idea to make it so it's a bit tricky to take the top of the box off. It requires a side push movement to unhook the box off the base. I'm not sure you could say this is child safe but it's sure dose make it so it won't come off unless you know how to unlatch it.
The box is made with Cherry with a Maple decor strip and a few coats of Danish oil.

Where to buy the Spring Plunger set screws

and Half Dog Point set screws.

I'm not sure how long these will be available on ebay.

Tony,

I was one of the first to comment, but apparently after I figured out your video buttons I forgot to post my comment. Basically I was just talking to someone who was looking for something similar. don't know if he uses tissues though LOL!

Nice work and thoughtful design.

Tony, I like the little extra touches like the stripe and the latches. Good thinking on this box. Interesting way to cut the foam. I have found that you also can carve closed cell foam using a die cutter and a battery powered drill. Thanks for sharing this well-done design with us. Keep boxing and keep posting.
