Project Information
TV stand and side table I made for our lake house.
The tops are made from heart pine recovered from my great grandfather's house when I was a child. Heart pine is generally unavailable now unless it is recovered from old buildings and such. Each inch of width requires 30 years of growth. Most of the planks are 8 to 10 inches wide which means some are from trees that were over 300 years old! This wood would have been harvested in the early 1900s.
The bases are just lumber I jointed and planed square, then glued and screwed together. They are painted with chocolate brown milk paint followed by antique white chalk paint and distressed. The entire piece was finished with Polycrylic water-based polyurethane.
