Project Information

Here's a few pics of my setup procedure on my new Hafco Woodmaster hybrid cabinet saw.
It would appear the saw was made on a friday by underpaid workers who had been out for a boozy lunch.
The instructions were rubbish, but I managed to adjust everything and actually pull a pretty decent setup.
So I upgraded the belt to a Fenner drives one, aligned the drive pulleys, setup the riving knife, aligned the blade, adjusted 90/45 degrees stops, and adjusted the rip fence.
I made a bunch of zero clearance throat plates which as you can see was a bit more of a challenge than some other saws I've seen, so I made 6 of them.
I also installed a custom made large area knee operated stop switch since the factory installed one was about 6" higher than my knee.
Finally, it was time for a well earned beer. I discovered that the arbor spanner made for a perfect bottle opener. Maybe the guys that in the factory were doing some quality control inspections on the bottle openers… I mean arbor spanners when they made my saw.

Looks like a nice saw. Does it take Dado blades? Full size?

Had I known my wrench doubled as a bottle opener I wouldn't have had to drank from the can all these years.
