Oklahoma sycamore, a thin slice of figured walnut, and a saddle fender I found in the trash at a local saddle shop are the components of this latest box. Half laps for the framed lid, walnut splined miters, and walnut Patron hinges. Finished with Tung Oil Finish and wax. Dimensions are 13×7x5". I knew I'd eventually find a use for that saddle fender! It was carved by a good friend who died several years ago. I know he would approve as he was a woodworker as well as a saddlemaker.
