Project Information
This desk was commissioned by a client who works with computers. He was very particular with the dimensions and placement of the foot rest at the bottom since he will be spending a lot of time on this working table. I particularly played with the drawers to show how the joinery splits to reveal the drawer guides and the drawer itself. The breadboards frames the desk top and also gives it a sense of structural stability. It is always nice to see a piece finished when all the choices of woods cohere with the specs and everything works out well aesthetically, functionally and structurally.
ALL WOODS USED FOR THIS WORKING TABLE ARE RECLAIMED (as with all of my projects)
Woods used:
Top & Stretchers: Dungon ( iron wood)
Breadboards: Saplungan
Legs: Molave ( Philippine teak)
Face drawers; Narra
drawer sides: Ipil
Dimensions:
Height 30"
Depth 30"
Length 72"
