This one is inspired by the 9th century Borobudur temple in Indonesia.
I'm fascinated by shapes, this one got stuck in my head years ago.
243 separate pieces. Segmented rings of 48,32,24,16, and 12 pieces, 6 piece finial base and 1 piece finial.
The stones in the stupas I saw ranged from almost black to almost white, some looked blue, brown and red.
I used wood jaws for most of the holding, and joining rings together.
7" wide at base x 7" tall. Oak, hickory,cherry,mahogany and walnut. Mohawk Dead Flat Lacquer spray.
