I just finished build the Stickley 802 Sideboard. I built this for my mother in Red Oak instead of the traditional White Oak to match her kitchen. A great project. Now my wife wants one in QSWO.
Good design. Nice execution.
And after you build one out of QSWO for your wife, you will have to build one out of cherry to sell.
Trust me, building the second and third ones are so much easier.
Man,
I'm almost finished building something very similar and you had to show me up! lol. This is nice. I'm not quite at this level yet. Mind sharing the finish you used? I'm going to go much darker for mine (to match someexisting furniture) but I really like yours and would love to know what you used. Great work.
Thanks for all the nice comments. It is darker than the picture looks, hey, I'm a woodworker, not a photographer. HokieMojo - I used a General Finishes Gel stain and then sprayed 3 coats of satin lacquer. This was my first time using lacquer and also my first time spray finishing, but everything turned out great.
