Project Information

Greetings, one and all!!! I have been reading the site for a few weeks now, and am quite impressed with the good fellowship and excellent craftsmanship being shared here.
My introductory project is the toybox I made Christmas 2006 for my granddaughter. Nothing fancy, but I think quite usable. It sure didn't take long for it to be filled up!!
A kinda simple box out of 1/2" birch ply, with all the trim in clear pine. It's finished with Minwax "English Oak" and three coats of Polycrylic.

This past Christmas I built her a Pouting Chair (finished to match). I'll post that later. I also was "forced" to make a toybox for our grandson, too. That will probably follow, too.

Thanks for the great site!!

Congrats! - Very nice project- it has the makings of going from toybox to future hope chest--typical little girl dream.

Great looking toy box. It sounds like you have the same problem I do. Your not wrapped around a little girls finger are you? Thanks for posting.

God Bless

Nice box! I like the way you put a double lid so it would not be too heavy for a little one to handle.

Very nice toy box. I am sure it did not take her long to fill it up and she probably has more toys begging for another toy box as well (sounds like another project to me). I am also glad to see that you aren't playing favorites. After all you can't do something for one grandchild without doing something similar for them all.

Thanks for the post.

Great job HossMan. The dual lid top is a nice touch.

Thanks for having a look at the box, and all your comments. The dual lids were a must for the little princess. They just happen to give it a little added character, too. A happy discovery!
And…yes. it will make a nice hope chest: may even end up cedar-lined one day.
And…no….......she doesn't have me wrapped around her finger. Not much, anyway!!! hah!!!!!!!!
