I'm a power engineer by trade, so the electrical stuff wasn't much of a problem. I had to watch some videos to try to figure out how to do the woodworking though. Like:

How to make a straight cut with a circular saw
Making an On/Off actuator from a valve

I connected my valve to a dimmer switch instead of an ON/OFF switch.

I trusted the angle gauge on my saw to be a true 45 degrees, but it wasn't. This turned out to be a HUGE mistake and Ihad to do A LOT of sanding to true it up.

The stain is called 'Puritan Pine'. I added 2 coats of oil based polyurethane.
