Hello from the dogs and I here at Red Dog Run. We have a 24×48 space. Our woodshop is built around Shopsmith equipment. We moved the shop here from Seattle WA. about two years ago and are still setting up. First the space had to be built. Then boxes and crates unpacked, benches built and arranged. I'm building a plywood cart / panel cutting cart today - will post some pictures soon.

And here's the plywood cart that I made. It required me to clear a space 32" x 96"space in the shop. Which meant condensing the wood, unloading and moving the shelving unit.
The cart and panel cutting frame are nothing new with perhaps two exceptions - using cheap clamp parts to support and secure the frame while cutting. Also there will be strips of blueboard covering the frame as a sacrificial panel support

Now this is a nice shop. It has plenty of room in there and, with all the glass, I am sure it gets quite a bit of natural light as well. You have your shop pretty well organized, especially after just finishing up a project. When I am in the middle of a project it seems that all my hand tools end up on my assembly bench and then I don't have any room for assembly. You also have put together a pretty nice tool collection as well.

And I enjoyed the picture of your "shop security". But it looks like they are laying down on the job. :) I had a chocolate lab as well. She was with us for 14 years and, up until we had to put her down 4 years ago, would love to hang out with me.

Thanks for the pictures. I enjoyed taking a tour of your shop.

24'x48' gives you wonderful flexibility. My "Workshop in the Woods" is also a Shopsmith shop.

I love your shop smith. I have a 1952 ER version. The best thing about it is that a good friend gave it to me.

Thanks Dan, I have two complete ShopSmith machines and parts of another in here. One is 10ER that I have fitted with a ShopSmith speed reducer and now use full-time as a drill press. It works great and at the slow speed, drill bits do not overheat A 25 year old 510 is the main saw and the third device is a 500 base, way tubes, main table and way tube tie bar mounted in a router bench supporting an overhead pin router. All of it works well and the 10ER still runs like a fine watch.

Nice shop. I really like the photo tour. After seening how clean your shop is i feel i have no excuse for posting pics with sawdust covered floors. It must be a pleasure to work in there.
