Stand Up Desk

This is awesome! I'm planning on making a standing desk as well and have been trolling the internet looking for designs. So far, this is a finalist! I just hope I mine will look half as good.

Excellent work! I have a question about the center section; there seems to be a pull out for a keyboard, but the fold up center top seems to be made for a laptop. Is it ment to be used with a laptop and keyboard, or am I not seeing it correctly? How did you choose the over all hight?

Thanks for the comments. I chose the heights by taking measurements directly from my client and what was comfortable for him. As I recall, the keyboard height was about 2 inches lower than his elbow while standing in front of the desk. We added the stretchers to enable him to rest one or the other of his feet as he needed to change positions occasionally. He has a bad back and needs that flexibility. The stretcher is actually removable and reversable should any wear occur during use.
The unit was actually designed for use with his lap top. He has a docking station and likes to use a full sized keyboard; hence, the keyboard pull-out drawer. He places a monitor on the flat shelf to the upper left of the fold-up center section. The center fold up section is designed to hold reference materials: papers, books, etc.

That's a very nice desk. I like the design and it looks very useful. Looks like it could easily adapted for a computer or laptop.
