Spoon and reamer augers
museum tools back to life

The summer 2015 I bought some old museum tools on a marked.
Also I bought the beautiful reamer from France.
In the blog I bring back life to these old tools.

You can read more in the blog: http://lumberjocks.com/mafe/blog/97954

Great job, Mads!

True Story: Several years ago while browsing the various tables at a country flea market, I spotted a Cooper's bung hole borer very similar to your French reamer auger. It was very old, yet in exceptionally good shape. I could see it was heavily tarnished, yet there appeared to be sharp edges. Knowing that I only had fifty dollars in my wallet, I reached for it just to see the price. To my surprise there was no price tag. Still curious, I asked the dear old lady behind the table, "How much for this?"

She grabbed it out of my hand and turned to her husband asking, "How much for this cork screw?"

He replied, "Two dollars!"

I actually tore the pocket off my jeans grabbing for my wallet to retrieve the two dollars. I am now the proud owner of a Cooper's bung hole borer.
