Workshop Information

Location
Great Britain
Having recently moved house I am suffering from lack of workshop
this is something I need to rectify soon as trying to work in the great outdoors in the uk is not always practical

I had plans to build a workshop in the garden as I have plenty of space but I live in a model village where they are very strict with what you can and can't put up

so I either have to move house again or come up with a solution that suits my needs and fits in with local planning and my landlord

Sounds like the same reason I have not built a shed for my lawn and garden tools. I have to jump through ten hoops with the home owners association to get anything built.

Good luck, and I hope you get a place that will allow you to do what you want.
Personally, I can not wait to move and build my dream shop.

Most of us started with modest shops or no shop but a storage building. I didn't start collecting stationary power tools until I had more space. When space was limited I had a 8 1/2" craftsman radial arm saw I stored in an out building. I moved it on my sons wagon to the patio to work.

Hang in there and welcome to lumberjocks!!

Thanks for the comments

I don't think I could ever afford my dream workshop but I can dream

my problem at the moment is I had two single garages at my old place one I used as a workshop and the other for storage I am now down to three small out buildings each of which is under 5 ft square (now full floor to ceiling )

so for the time being I can only do small projects when we have dry weather as it takes me half the day to find things

I will get a few of my creations on here soon but for the most part recently I have been creating sleds etc for my recent saw

my previous cheap one finally died

Brad I hope you get your dream shop soon :)

Posts like this make me so grateful to live in the boon docks. I like to keep it looking nice, but there is nothing stopping me from putting up a lean-to made of tarps around my entire house. Looks like you have a pretty workable space going though! I would kill to have those steel runners in my shop! I'd be hoisting 2×4's just because I could.
