Project Information
Here is a spoon rack I just finished for our ever growing spoon collection. It's made from Spalted Pecan from our ranch, with white oak pegs. Everything was done by hand. The white oak pegs are secured to the Pecan base using tapered mortise and tenon joinery. I used the Veritas tapered tenon and tapered reamer tools to accomplish this. The spoon rack is 30" wide and can hold 13 spoons plus three hanging utensils on the pegs on the right. I used Tru Oil for the finish, followed by beeswax and a polissoir. Once I get it hung up in its final resting place, I'll post some more photos.
